3. Booking and Payment

3.1 Placing Orders

5. Your Responsibilities

5.1 Accurate Information

You must provide accurate and complete information including:

  • Valid contact numbers and email addresses
  • Correct pickup and delivery addresses
  • Accurate parcel weight and dimensions
  • Truthful description of parcel contents

5.2 Prohibited Items

You agree NOT to send:

  • Illegal substances, drugs, or narcotics
  • Weapons, explosives, or ammunition
  • Hazardous materials or flammable substances
  • Perishable goods without prior arrangement
  • Live animals or plants
  • Counterfeit goods or items that violate intellectual property rights
  • Cash, jewelry, or precious stones (unless insured and declared)
  • Items prohibited by Sri Lankan law

5.3 Packaging

You are responsible for ensuring parcels are properly packaged to withstand normal handling during transit. We recommend using sturdy boxes, adequate cushioning, and waterproof wrapping where appropriate.

6. Delivery Terms

6.1 Delivery Timeframes

Estimated delivery times are provided as guidance only and are not guaranteed. Delivery may be delayed due to:

  • Adverse weather conditions
  • Traffic congestion
  • Incorrect or incomplete address information
  • Recipient unavailability
  • Public holidays
  • Force majeure events

6.2 Delivery Attempts

We will make up to three (3) delivery attempts. If delivery cannot be completed after three attempts, the parcel will be returned to the sender, and return fees may apply.

6.3 Proof of Delivery

Delivery is considered complete when:

  • The recipient signs for the parcel, or
  • A photographic proof of delivery (POD) is captured, or
  • The parcel is left at the specified safe location as per delivery instructions

7. Liability and Insurance

7.1 Standard Liability

Our liability for loss or damage is limited to:

  • The actual value of the parcel contents, up to a maximum of LKR 10,000 per shipment
  • Or the delivery fee paid, whichever is lower

7.2 Additional Insurance

For parcels valued over LKR 10,000, we strongly recommend purchasing additional insurance coverage at the time of booking. Insurance rates vary based on declared value.

7.3 Claims

Claims for loss, damage, or delay must be reported within:

  • 24 hours for damaged parcels
  • 7 days for lost parcels
  • Claims must include supporting documentation (photos, invoices, waybill)

8. Cancellations and Refunds

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental damages
  • We are not liable for delays caused by factors beyond our reasonable control
  • Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the fees paid for that specific delivery
  • We are not liable for loss or damage resulting from improper packaging by the sender

10. Account Terms (Business Customers)

10.1 Account Registration

Business customers may register for an account at dashboard.ccexpress.lk to access:

  • Bulk order management
  • API integrations
  • Credit terms (subject to approval)
  • Advanced reporting and analytics

10.2 Account Security

You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials
  • All activities conducted under your account
  • Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized access

11. Intellectual Property

All content on our website and platforms, including logos, text, graphics, and software, is the property of Colombo City Express (Pvt) Ltd and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our express written permission.

12. Dispute Resolution

12.1 Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka. Any disputes arising from these Terms or our services shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
